May 16-18, 2013: Mayan Families Fundraiser

A good lunch: tortillas negritas, guacamole, mangoes, and coffee

A woman at the market weighs two pounds of tomatoes for me.
Hollowed-out gourds are for sale today.

Mimi takes a nap on the roof.
On May 18th, there is a fundraiser for Mayan Families.  Dave and Leiann have done much of the planning and work, including recruiting Manny to emcee the event.
Evelyn helps set up the silent auction tables.

Dave sells raffle tickets.

Charlie has a steady stream of customers at the drink ticket table.

Friends enjoy dinner together.

Leiann encourages people to bid on desserts.
Evelyn and Manny finally have a moment to eat.

Fun behind the bar

Wes waits for his drink.

Steve enjoys a beer while Manny
performs his emcee duties.
Donna dances with the guitarist.

Sharon, standing on the right, is the founder of Mayan Families.

Leiann and Dave make it out onto the dance floor at the end of the night.
The kids have fun together while we're at the fundraiser.

Marcos shows his serious side.

The girls do some father-and-son hairstyling after the Mayan Families event.

Manuel is clearly thrilled with his new look.

No one escapes Amanda's hairstyling experiments.

Andrés will only let me take a photo of him if he is decorated with gummy bears.
